Before removing or uninstalling the app, you should stop all FortiClient processes from your macOS system using Activity Monitor. You can also restart you Mac to clear the process from the background
1. Open Activity Monitor on your Mac. Use Spotlight search [Command + Space] and Type Activity Monitor to open it.
2. Search FortiClient in the search box, and see the running process. Select it > Click on the Cross button to Force quit it.
Use Activity Monitor to quit the FortiClient app. Try running the uninstaller located in the Finder Applications folder. To do this, run FortiClientUninstaller.app from your Applications folder in Finder Mac.
3. Open Finder on Mac. Open Applications folder or From the top menu Go > Applications.
4. Find FortiClientUninstaller.app and run.
5. Follow the uninstaller set up, Click on Uninstall and Successfully remove the FortiClient app from Mac.
6. Final step is to remove all traces of your Forticlient software from your Mac. Some users might believe there is little risk involved in leaving outdated preferences and support files on the hard disc but removing related items from these locations is necessary to completely uninstall FortiClient. To make a fresh installation or free up valuable disc space, it is not advised to leave them alone. Junk files could be found in the following directories:
7. Open Finder, and choose the Go > Go to Folder from the Menu Bar. Type /Library in the Go to Folder box and hit Enter key to open it up.
8. When the /Library folder shows up, type the keyword(s) of FortiClient or its vendor’s name in the Search box, and click on Library next to the Search: again.
9. identify and select the matched items with the named of the keyword(s), then right click on them and choose Move to Trash option.
10. Repeat the same steps to delete FortiClient traces in the ~/Library directory.
While /Library is located inside your Home Folder, /Library is located at the root level of your hard drive. To thoroughly uninstall FortiClient, associated files must be deleted from both of these places. The following directories may contain junk files:
