Enable Forticlient And TeamViewer On MAC

This tutorial will basically inform you how to enable almost any app after it is installed on a MAC. Since MacOS has a security mechanism that requires users to manually allow permissions for anything to be installed, it also requires users to enable further permissions if the apps functionalities are related to remote access. We are going to focus on the Forticlient and TeamViewer apps assuming you have them installed on your PC.

Most MacOS versions up until now have a similar user interface, so the below instructions should match what you see on your Mac.

From the Desktop screen, click on the Apple icon in the top right and access System Preferences

Next click on Security & Privacy, Then Privacy. In the left panel we will need to select and edit the 3 options: Accessibility, Full Disk Access, Screen Recording. To edit the apps within the options you will need to unlock the feature by clicking on the lock in the bottom left

Once unlocked, access all 3 options: Accessibility, Full Disk Access, Screen Recording and Check in everyone of them TeamViewer

In some cases when TeamViewer is not appearing in the app sections, just click the + sign and add it manually

To Enable Forticlient on Mac

Make sure before you begin to download the latest Forticlient version on your MacOS. Check your MacOS version as well to know that it is compatible with the latest Forticlient.

To enable Forticlient, we only need to edit the Full Disk Access in Privacy just as instructed above and enable the apps related to Forticlient below:

You may need to manually add fmon2 to the list if it isn’t already on the list of applications to allow full disc access to. To add an application, click the + icon. fmon2 can be found in /Library/Application Support/Fortinet/FortiClient/bin/.

Forticlient also has a Web Filter that can block access to malicious and inappropriate websites. To enable this feature on your Mac, navigate to: Security & Privacy settings. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and click the Allow button beside System software from developer “Fortinet, Inc” was blocked from loading.

In some MacOS versions, rebooting your Mac is necessary to complete the installation of Forticlient.
